When the 2023 inductees to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame were announced last week, one newer resident of Boulder City had more of an emotional stake in the outcome than most.
1 HOLIDAY SPIRIT: The Boulder City Art Guild has infused its annual winter show with a festive atmosphere and transformed it into a Holiday Fine Art and Craft Show. It will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the city’s recreation center, 900 Arizona St. More than 40 vendors are set to showcase their wares. 1 DOGGONE FUN: Let your dogs strut their stuff when Boulder City Chamber of Commerce presents its first Pooch Parade on Saturday. To be held in Bicentennial Park, 999 Colorado St., the festivities will include a variety of contests, sport dog demonstrations, pet vendors and entertainment. 1 SHOP, SHOP, SHOP: Grace Community Church’s fall favorite, Country Store, will be open Friday and Saturday featuring an assortment of items ranging from furniture to holiday decorations. Hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Items will be sorted into 16 departments. Proceeds benefit local charities and the church’s school, Grace Christian Academy.
1 SWEET HAUNTS: Trunk or Treat returns Saturday to Veterans’ Memorial Park, 1501 Buchanan Blvd., for a festive, safe way to celebrate Halloween. Gates to the park will open at 3:30 p.m., when trunk decorating starts. Trunk or treating starts at 5 p.m., with costume and trunk decorating contest at 6 p.m. There will be a haunted hayride, bounce house, games, food and more. Admission is $10 per vehicle.
