When the 2023 inductees to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame were announced last week, one newer resident of Boulder City had more of an emotional stake in the outcome than most.

This weekend will give Boulder City residents and visitors a chance to raise money for charity and sample different kinds of craft beer during the seventh annual Boulder City Beerfest.
1WET YOUR WHISTLE: The Boulder City Beerfest returns for its seventh incarnation Saturday at Wilbur Square Park, 200 Park St. More than 300 brewers, including host Boulder Dam Brewing Co., are expected at the event, scheduled from 1-7 p.m. There also will be eight food trucks and vendors. Tickets are $60 for VIP entry at 1 p.m. and $45 for general admission at 3 p.m. Proceeds benefit Operation Homefront, which provides emergency financial aid and assistance to families, service members and wounded warriors of the United States armed forces.
1 NEVADA STORIES: Kay Moore kicks off the return of Boulder City/Hoover Dam Museum’s Third Thursday lecture series with a talk entitled “Bold Women of Southern Nevada.” Her talk begins at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 21, in the Segerblom Theatre inside the Boulder Dam Hotel, 1305 Arizona St. Admission is free; refreshments will be served. 1 ROCK AND ROLL: Get ready to Rock, Roll & Stroll your way around Bicentennial Park to help raise funds for the Senior Center of Boulder City and its Meals on Wheels program. There will be entertainment and food. Festivities are scheduled from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the park, 999 Colorado St.
1 AND ALL THAT JAZZ: Join the Mardi Crawl, also known as the Best Dam Wine Walk, on Saturday evening. Visit more than 20 area businesses while sampling an assortment of beverages during the event, presented by the Boulder City Chamber of Commerce. Check-in is from 4-6:30 p.m. at Daisies in the Desert, 402 Nevada Way. 1 SPIRITED PERFORMANCE: Tobi D’Amore and The Bone Chimes will perform Saturday at the Boulder Dam Brewing Co. Guided by the spirit of the audience, the ensemble performs D’Amore’s original music and covers by artists such as Jim Croce and Bob Seger. 1 POP THE CORN: Head over to Boulder City Library for an after-hours movie session. “Crazy Rich Asians” will be shown at 5:30 p.m. in the community room. The romantic comedy follows a native New Yorker as she heads to Singapore to meet her boyfriend’s family, including his disapproving mother. Those attending are welcome to bring blankets, folding chairs, snacks and drinks. The library is at 701 Adams Blvd.
1 COUNTING THE YEARS: Boulder Dam Brewing Co. will celebrate its 12th “annibrewsary” Saturday with a party featuring live music from Elysium of Phoenix, prize drawings, drink and dining specials and tapping of its 12th Annibrewsary Ale, a black coffee IPA.
