Finishing the regular season with an undefeated record, Boulder City High School girls golf finished strong at Casablanca on Sept. 30.
Competing at the Silver State Senior Games swim meet at Pavilion Pool in Las Vegas October 4-5, four members of Boulder City’s Masters swim team SONAR dominated the field.
Competing at the CSN Invitational at Floyd Lamb Park on Oct. 3, Aiden MacPherson and Caleb Wolfe finished fourth and fifth respectively out of 121 runners.
Clinching regular-season league titles, both Boulder City High School programs defeated Adelson on Sept. 30.
Playing the role of David for the past two seasons, the Boulder City High School girls bowling team finally came out victorious against Goliath on Friday at The Orleans, defeating rival Southeast Career Technical Academy 1,892-1,858 to capture its first 3A state championship in school history.
The top Southern Nevada team to place in the state wrestling championships, Boulder City High School walked away with third place, with a score of 123.5, falling behind northern powerhouses Spring Creek (135) and Churchill County (132.5) during Saturday’s competition in Sparks.
Finding balance on both sides of the ball during the Lady Eagle’s flag football 26-6 victory over Chaparral on Feb. 8, Boulder City High School head coach Chris Morelli is hopefully the team can stay consistent throughout the postseason.
Big Bend of the Colorado State Recreation Area should be considered a must-see place by every outdoor person in the metropolitan Las Vegas area. Handily located at the southern tip of Nevada, the park was established in 1996, directly on the Colorado River south of Laughlin’s Casino Drive.

Because of its location on the border between the United States and Mexico about two hours from either Phoenix or Tucson, Arizona, a visit to Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument requires some effort. But the payoff, in addition to seeing unusual cactuses, is the natural beauty of the Sonoran Desert.

Eagle-eyed followers of city government may have noticed multiple references by city officials over the past year to expect shortfalls in the Boulder City budget over the next few years. It is a fact of life for city staff, and the big decrease in tourism to the region is poised to make the situation even more dire.
