Setting both Boulder City High School swims programs up for success come May, head coach Sara Carroll has scheduled a tough slate for the Eagles this season, with four 4A opponents on their regular season schedule. To answer the test early, both teams swam past Silverado on Saturday at the Municipal Pool in Las Vegas.

Opening their track and field seasons with third-place finishes, Boulder City High School’s boys and girls programs showed promise at the Bulldog Early Bird Invitational on Friday.

Eagles baseball team routs Cheyenne after tough tourney

The offense of Boulder City High School’s baseball program finally came alive Tuesday against Cheyenne, routing the Desert Shield 16-2 for its first victory of the season after an 0-4 start at the 4A Bengal Varsity Tournament on Thursday through Saturday.

Athlete of the Week

Each week the coaches at Boulder City High School nominate an athlete to spotlight for contributions made to his or her team. This week’s honor goes to junior Bailey Bennett-Jordan, who pitches and plays first base for the Lady Eagles softball team. She was recognized for her performance during the Colorado River Invitational in Needles, California, where she pitched 17 innings over three and a half games, striking out 24 batters. At the plate, she has a .615 batting average, with four singles, one double and three home runs, bringing in 11 runs. She is the daughter of Billy and Timmie Jordan.
