Putting in work at Virgin Valley on Feb. 7, eight Boulder City High School wrestlers punched their ticket to state, highlighted by regional champions Coen Burrows and Otis Ruth.

This week’s honoree is senior Sariah Gneiting who placed first in shot put and discus, with throws of 34:2 and 100:1, respectively, during the April 22 meet in Pahrump. The previous week at the Ocean View Small School meet, she set a record in shot put with a throw of 35:11. Additionally, she was praised for having never missed a practice, setting new personal records nearly every week of the season and mentoring younger athletes.

Despite being plagued with absences, the Boulder City boys and girls swim teams won their dual meet over Virgin Valley on Saturday at the Henderson Multigenerational Pool. The girls won 200-77; the boys won 133-126.
