Boulder City High School baseball picked up their first victory of the season on March 5, upsetting 5A Foothill, 6-5.
Hosting a weekday event on March 4, both the girls and boys Boulder City High School track and field programs showed off their strengths.
Advancing to 4-4 on the season, Boulder City High School boys volleyball earned impressive victories over higher classified Green Valley and Silverado.
On the hunt for their fourth consecutive 3A state championship, Boulder City High School boys swimming didn’t disappoint in their season opener at Heritage on Feb. 28, defeating Coral Academy 640-333.
The Boulder City boys track and field team is 2015 Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association’s I-A Southern Regional runner-up. They scored 80 points at the Southern Division I-A-Division 3-Division 4 Regionals Meet on Saturday in Boulder City. Faith Lutheran High School was crowned the division Southern Regional champions with 139 points.

The Lady Eagles softball team ended its regular season undefeated April 29 after a 6-3 win over Moapa Valley.
Each week the coaches at Boulder City High School nominate an athlete to spotlight for contributions made to his or her team. This week’s honoree is sophomore Sarah Estes, who swam her two best times, 58.85 and 2:24.40, in the 100-yard freestyle and 200-yard individual medley, respectively, at Saturday’s Last Chance meet. Her coach expects her to be a great asset to the girls swim team in the future and praised her dedication and ability to follow directions.
The Boulder City track team hosted the Boulder City Small School Invite on Friday.
If there is one thing you can call the Boulder City baseball team, it’s champions. After beating Southeast Career Technical Academy on April 22, 8-0, the Eagles claimed the Division I-A title for the season, remaining undefeated 12-0 for league play.
The Lady Eagles softball team continues its winning season, putting it further ahead in first place for league standings.
This past Friday evening, a large and appreciative crowd turned out for the Nevada Shakespeare Festival’s performance of “Henry V” in Bicentennial Park. The performance was hosted by Main Street Boulder City and the Boulder City Chamber of Commerce. NSF featured six actors and actresses, who each played six to eight characters during the 80-minute performance.
The Boulder City Council received an update last week on the new community pool and were shown renderings of what the new facility may look like and a possible completion date.
A half-dozen Boulder City residents signed on the dotted line seeking office for mayor and city council.
