And that’s the point of going there! While the hike is quite remote, the reward is a stunning narrow canyon, carved by a perennial stream, flanked by lush vegetation. Each week the coaches at Boulder City High School nominate an athlete to spotlight for contributions made to his or her team. This week’s honoree is sophomore Sarah Estes, who swam her two best times, 58.85 and 2:24.40, in the 100-yard freestyle and 200-yard individual medley, respectively, at Saturday’s Last Chance meet. Her coach expects her to be a great asset to the girls swim team in the future and praised her dedication and ability to follow directions.

If there is one thing you can call the Boulder City baseball team, it’s champions. After beating Southeast Career Technical Academy on April 22, 8-0, the Eagles claimed the Division I-A title for the season, remaining undefeated 12-0 for league play.
