Unable to continue their postseason success, Boulder City High School girls soccer bowed out in the second round of the postseason on Oct. 31 with a 2-1 defeat to Equipo Academy.

The offense of Boulder City High School’s baseball program finally came alive Tuesday against Cheyenne, routing the Desert Shield 16-2 for its first victory of the season after an 0-4 start at the 4A Bengal Varsity Tournament on Thursday through Saturday.
Each week the coaches at Boulder City High School nominate an athlete to spotlight for contributions made to his or her team. This week’s honor goes to junior Bailey Bennett-Jordan, who pitches and plays first base for the Lady Eagles softball team. She was recognized for her performance during the Colorado River Invitational in Needles, California, where she pitched 17 innings over three and a half games, striking out 24 batters. At the plate, she has a .615 batting average, with four singles, one double and three home runs, bringing in 11 runs. She is the daughter of Billy and Timmie Jordan.
There are hundreds of slot canyons in Utah’s Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, but most are hard to find, and it may take days afoot to reach them. A few, however, are accessed fairly easily on a day trip, as long as you are up to driving rough gravel roads and able to hike a round-trip of a few moderate miles.

Anyone who has been around the Boulder City political world for any stretch of time already knows that Mayor Joe Hardy is a pretty humble guy and not one to toot his own horn.
When Utilities Director Joe Stubitz briefed the city council on the status of Boulder City’s Dark Sky initiative, which involves replacing hundreds of street light fixtures with modern versions that aim light onto the ground and not into the sky, it was notable for reasons beyond spending and how soon the program would be finished.
Boulder City has a great vision statement.
