Each week the coaches at Boulder City High School nominate an athlete to spotlight for contributions made to his or her team. This week’s honor goes to senior Kenadee Bailey, who is a jumper, hurdler and relay sprinter for the track and field team. Coach Sara Fisher said Bailey “has shown excellent drive and fierce competition” as the top triple jumper in the 3A southern division and in the top three for the 100- and 300-meter hurdles. “In the Mojave meet, while running the 100 hurdles, she fell, jumped up, took off running and still scored second.” Bailey is a member of the 4×400 team that beat Mojave and is currently ranked first in the division. Bailey also plays volleyball and flag football for the school. She is the daughter of Kim and Kurt Bailey.

Monday morning, three new Boulder City police officers were sworn in during a ceremony that featured city staff, family and fellow officers. Two more future officers will be attending the police academy next month. The new officers help fill vacancies left by retiring officers or those who have moved onto other agencies.
