Helping guide Boulder City High School back to the 3A state title, four Eagles volleyball players were named to the 2026 Nevada Preps All-Southern Nevada boys volleyball team, which consists of players from all divisions.
Moving on to the next level, a pair of Boulder City High School star female athletes have fulfilled their dreams of competing in collegiate athletics.
Finishing as 3A state champion runners-up, five Boulder City High School baseball players were selected to the 3A All-State team, while coach Denny Crine was named coach of the year.
Helping guide Boulder City High School boys volleyball back to the 3A state title, senior David Zwahlen was named 3A player of the year.
Each week the coaches at Boulder City High School select an athlete to spotlight for contributions made to his or her team. This week’s honoree is senior Trenton Carmell, who plays quarterback and defensive back for the Eagles. During Friday’s 27-21 loss to Virgin Valley, Carmell made a key play, stretching the ball into the end zone to make a touchdown in the game’s final minutes and advancing the team to the Southern Region playoffs. He also was instrumental in the team’s 49-48 win against Sunrise Mountain earlier this month.
Boulder City’s Lani Potter shot an 87 in Tuesday’s final round of the Division I-A girls golf state tournament to finish in 10th place with a 174 total for the two-day event at Elko’s Ruby View Golf Course.
The Boulder City football team can advance to the Southern Region playoffs for a third consecutive year with a win at home Friday in its season finale against Virgin Valley.
The Boulder City girls volleyball team will try to get back on a winning track at 6 tonight when the Lady Eagles host Sunrise Mountain in a Sunrise League match.

This week’s honoree is freshman Lani Potter, a member of the girls golf team. Potter, the daughter of Rich and Julia Potter, has had the lowest score, earning medalist honors in all five league matches this season. In the Division I-A regional golf tournament Oct. 14, she shot a 4-over-par 76.
School is in session, and now when the kids get home they just want to plop on the couch and enjoy video games or social media.
Boulder City’s Sierra Selinger finished third among 87 runners Oct. 14 at the annual Freshman/Sophomore Cross-Country Invitational.
The monsoon season is over, the crowds have gone, and the daytime temperatures are ideal — all perfect conditions for a fall trip to Lake Powell.
For the second straight year, the Boulder City girls tennis team reached the second round of the Southern Region’s playoffs. But also for the second straight year, the team was eliminated one match short of advancing to the Division I-A team tennis state tournament.
