Boulder City is in first place with an overall 10-3 record and 2-0 in the Sunrise League after a 12-2 victory against visiting Chaparral. Chaparral falls to second place with a 5-6 overall record and 2-1 in league play.

Golfers open league play with win in Mesquite

Luke Logan carded an even-par 71 in cold, windy weather at Falcon Ridge March 26 to help Boulder City’s boys golf team win the Sunrise League opening match. The Eagles had a team score of 402 to beat seven teams, while Moapa Valley was second at 476. Marcus Walker added an 80, and Kyler Atkinson shot 81 for the Eagles.

Gebhart has sights on state record, team championship

Joey Gebhart not only wants to end his career at Boulder City with another team championship, he has his sights set on breaking the 24-year-old state record in the 100-yard backstroke.

Guard Jonas Hernandez scored 20 points and center Eddie Willingham added 12 points and 21 rebounds as Credit Union defeated El Rancho Boulder 61­-47 to win the championship game in the Boulder City Parks & Recreation Men’s Basketball League.

From Garden to Grave

Last week, the Christian Center Church hosted four showings of Garden to Grave: Live Stations of the Cross. Pastor Deborah Downs said the Stations of the Cross “are a contemplative practice of walking the way of suffering with Jesus. If one were to visit the city of Jerusalem, they would discover all 14 stations on what is called the Via Dolorosa – The Sorrowful Way – a path from Pilate’s court to Golgotha to the tomb.”
