Unable to continue their postseason success, Boulder City High School girls soccer bowed out in the second round of the postseason on Oct. 31 with a 2-1 defeat to Equipo Academy.
Five Eagles will represent Boulder City High School in the cross country state championships this weekend, after strong performances at regionals.
Opening round of the postseason was the perfect time for Boulder City High School to snap a two-game skid, defeating Democracy Prep 14-8 on Oct. 30.
The word phenom is defined as a person who is outstandingly talented or admired, especially an up-and-comer.
At times, visitors to Boulder City High sports games might want to rub their eyes to make sense of what they are seeing. The school’s opponents are not seeing double, but you can’t blame them for thinking their sight might need adjusting.
Boulder City senior linebacker Dillon Prach and junior defensive end Brooks Roe have been selected to the Division IA football’s all-state second team. Both also were chosen All-Southern Region first team and All-Sunrise League first team.
Boulder City first-year girls’ basketball coach Paul Dosch knew his team would eventually lose a game. He was more concerned with how his team would bounce back after the setback.
A handful of individuals and several relay teams excelled on the national level Dec. 19-22 as the Boulder City/Henderson Heatwave amateur swim club finished second in the 22nd annual Elite Pro-Am Chesapeake Swim Meet in Oklahoma City.
The Boulder City flag football team remains unbeaten and is one of only two teams in Clark County among 34 in the sport that has yet to lose a game.
The Boulder City boys bowling team started the season as the favorite to win the state championship. They took another step to solidify that position when they defeated two-time defending state champion Southeast Career Technical Academy on Dec. 16 at Boulder Bowl.
The Boulder City Diamondbacks fast-pitch softball team captured the Henderson Girls Softball Association’s 12 and younger Winter Classic Championship Tournament Dec. 1. They also placed second in the Fall Fling 15 team tournament Nov. 23 at Majestic Park in Las Vegas.
First, the Boulder City girls basketball team was good. Then it was lucky. Twice.
The Boulder City boys basketball team, betrayed by poor free-throw shooting, lost 49-45 to visiting Faith Lutheran on Friday.

Anyone who has been around the Boulder City political world for any stretch of time already knows that Mayor Joe Hardy is a pretty humble guy and not one to toot his own horn.
When Utilities Director Joe Stubitz briefed the city council on the status of Boulder City’s Dark Sky initiative, which involves replacing hundreds of street light fixtures with modern versions that aim light onto the ground and not into the sky, it was notable for reasons beyond spending and how soon the program would be finished.
Boulder City has a great vision statement. It’s located on the front page of our website: “The City of Boulder City is committed to preserving its status as a small town, with a small-town charm, historical heritage and unique identity, while proactively addressing our needs and enhancing our quality of life.”
