Boulder City a popular spot for Hollywood shoots

Filming movies, television shows or commercials in Las Vegas is very common. But over the years, Boulder City has seen its fair share of moments on the both the big and small screen as well as the pages of many magazines.

1 ELECTRIC PARADE: Downtown Boulder City will be awash in an assortment of colorful lights for Santa’s Electric Night Parade. The annual event features floats and vehicles covered in lights, musical ensembles and, of course, Santa Claus. The parade, presented by the Boulder City Chamber of Commerce, begins at 4:30 p.m. and travels through the historic district along Nevada Way.

The film tells the story of Diana, an Amazonian warrior in training, who leaves home, discovering her power and destiny, after learning of the war in the world outside her home. 1 NORWEGIAN DELIGHTS: The Boulder City/Henderson Desert Troll Lodge, Sons of Norway, will host its annual lutefisk dinner at 5 p.m. Saturday. The traditional dish is made of aged or dried and salted fish and lye, which makes the dish gelatinous. Also on the menu are Scandinavian meatballs, pork roast and lefse, a potato flatbread. The evening’s festivities will include a raffle, door prizes and gifts for children. Tickets are $22 for adults and $7 for children younger than 12. City council to mull recruitment firms

When departing and now former city manager Taylour Tedder was on his way out, he took some steps to try to smooth out the transition to a new city executive in the form of five recruitment firms vying for the call to be hired to conduct a nationwide search for his replacement.

In early April, the City Council heard a presentation by Lage Design about staff’s recommended option to remove 35% of the turf at the Boulder City Municipal Golf Course.
