Saturday night, a large crowd donned their best 1980s attire, which included an abundance of neon-colored clothing as part of the aptly-named Neon Nights. The block party was hosted by Main Street Boulder City and served as a make-up event for their planned New Year’s Eve celebration, which was canceled due to impending weather. Attendees filled the restautants and bars along the steet, while listening to 80s music played by DJ Mike Pacini.

This past weekend, the Boulder City Art Guild hosted its annual Artists in Action show and sale at the Boulder City Parks and Rec gym. This past Friday evening, a large and appreciative crowd turned out for the Nevada Shakespeare Festival’s performance of “Henry V” in Bicentennial Park. The performance was hosted by Main Street Boulder City and the Boulder City Chamber of Commerce. NSF featured six actors and actresses, who each played six to eight characters during the 80-minute performance.

1ROCKIN’ THE BLOCK: The Dillinger hosts its fifth annual block party on Saturday, taking over downtown Boulder City for a free, all-ages event featuring live music by local favorites, including The Junk Yard Dogs, Moksha, Same Sex Mary and The Scoundrels. The party will kick off at 3:45 p.m. with a performance by the Boulder City High School marching band and feature hot dog-eating and beer-drinking contests, live art, vendors and food trucks, as well as a charity raffle to benefit the Shane Patton Scholarship Foundation. 1JAMMIN’ IN THE PARK: The first weekend in May welcomes the return of the 40th annual Boulder City Spring Jamboree featuring arts and crafts, live music, a classic hot rod car show, booths from local businesses and food vendors. There will be face painting, the “Aerial Assault” trampoline show and more at the year’s biggest community event. Festivities will take over Bicentennial, Wilbur Square and the Escalante parks, beginning at 9 a.m. and running until 5 p.m. on Saturday, 4 p.m. Sunday. 1COMMUNITY CARES: Friday evening, from dusk until dawn, Relay for Life volunteers will walk laps around Boulder City High School’s track at 1101 Fifth St., raising funds for the American Cancer Society.
