Boulder City High School golf star junior Lani Potter was named 3A Southern Region player of the year for the second consecutive season following her first-place finish at state with an overall score of 147 on the par-144 course, 20 strokes lower then her next competitor.
With her team making its first 3A state tournament appearance since 2013, Boulder City High School girls volleyball coach Cherise Hinman said she couldn’t be more proud of the transformation the Lady Eagles have gone through this season.
Adding on to her growing legacy at Boulder City High School, Lady Eagles’ runner junior Sierra Selinger was the first Southern Nevada finisher during Saturday’s 3A state championship meet at Craig Ranch Park in North Las Vegas, guiding the program to a sixth-place finish out of seven programs.
Boulder City is tied closely to Southern Nevada’s veterans, with the state’s only veterans home and the area’s only veterans’ cemetery. On Veterans Day there will be several events held to honor those important members of the community.
