This summer, Peyton Koopman will be playing baseball with a different crowd of people. Koopman, a star varsity baseball player at Boulder City High School, will be playing summer ball in Denver with the Colorado Travelers.
As summer heats up, the Boulder City Connie Mack Baseball League 18 and younger summer league team’s competition follows suite.
Luke Logan has always excelled at golf. It’s been a part of his life since he was 5 years old. As his high school career was coming to a close, Logan had to decide how golf was going to fit into his future. Late in April, he signed a letter of intent to attend North Idaho College in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, on a 90 percent tuition scholarship.
Collin Fox started wrestling in the seventh grade. He immediately fell in love. Now, Fox is graduating from Boulder City High School, looking ahead to a bright future wrestling at Concordia University in Nebraska.
For the second straight year, the Sunrise team is the Southern Nevada Flag Football Coaches Association All-Star game champion. It defeated the Sunset team 13-6.
Brooks Roe ended his high school career on a high note. Not only did he set a new personal record in hurdles during his last career track meet, but he also was recognized as a Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association Top Ten Student-Athlete of the Year on April 27 during a banquet attended by other honorees and his family.
Boulder City High School’s boys golf team traveled to Truckee, Calif., where it finished third at state this season with a 877 total score on May 13.
For the fifth consecutive year, the Boulder City boys swim team are Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association Swimming and Diving Division I-A state champions. The girls won their third championship in a row after the competition Saturday in Carson City.
After a season of hard work and dedication, the Boulder City baseball team’s season ended in heartbreak and devastation with a 7-6 loss to Elko on Friday during the 2015 Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association’s Division I-A state tournament.
As the school year comes to a close, so does the season for sports. For Boulder City’s track and field teams, their season ended Saturday with the 2015 Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association Track and Field State Championships at Del Sol High School.
