Police seek help finding person of interest in murder case

Metropolitan Police Department of Las Vegas is seeking the public’s help to find a person of interest in the death of 61-year-old Kathleen Ploutz of Las Vegas, whose body was found near the special events beach at Boulder Basin in the Lake Mead National Recreation Area on July 18.

Work on road to dam Monday may cause delays

The Nevada Department of Transportation will be making flood-related slope and guardrail repairs to State Route 172 in Boulder City from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday.

Volunteers to clean up 3 miles of Colorado River Saturday

Around 80 volunteers will pick up trash along 3 miles of the lower Colorado River along the Black Canyon National Water Trail by canoe, kayak, foot and diving between 9 a.m. and noon Saturday.

NDOT to hold public information meeting about bypass

Park Service marks 98th birthday with free admission, cake

Lake Mead National Recreation Area will celebrate the 98th birthday of the National Park Service Monday by waiving its $10 entrance fee. Birthday cake also will be available at the visitor center, starting at 1 p.m.

The body of a 30-year-old Las Vegas man who went missing Tuesday was recovered from Lake Mead around 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Lane restriction set for U.S. Highway 95

The Nevada Department of Transportation will restrict the left lane on U.S. Highway 95 northbound from the Railroad Pass interchange to milepost 58, which is just before the Wagonwheel interchange. The lane restriction will go into effect from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday.

Summer Storm

A thunderstorm accompanied by high winds hit Boulder City around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday. The storm flooded downtown streets, but only .12 of an inch was recorded, according to the National Weather Service. There was a flash flood warning until 7:15 p.m. and the forecast calls for scattered showers and thunderstorms until about 11 p.m.

Search underway for missing Las Vegas man

The National Park Service is searching for a Las Vegas man who was last seen in the water near Callville Bay Marina.

City council to mull recruitment firms

When departing and now former city manager Taylour Tedder was on his way out, he took some steps to try to smooth out the transition to a new city executive in the form of five recruitment firms vying for the call to be hired to conduct a nationwide search for his replacement.
