Athlete of the Week

Laura Hubel/Boulder City Review

Each week the coaches at Boulder City High School nominate an athlete to spotlight for contributions made to his or her team. This week’s honoree is senior Sebastian Balmer, who plays center back on the boys varsity soccer team. Serving as one of two captains, Balmer is also the team’s primary defender, stealing or blocking 10 to 15 attacks per game. “He is one of the most balanced players on the soccer field, and shows great control under pressure,” said coach Chad Smith. Balmer also was recognized for his ability to read the field and position himself to counter the opposition. He is the son of Judd Balmer and Iraina Balmer.
