Hacienda to be remodeled, reopen as Hoover Dam Lodge

The Hacienda Casino will soon be named Hoover Dam Lodge, according to tavern operator Dotty’s, which is in the final stages of purchasing the property.

Rain causes temporary road closures at Lake Mead

Flooding and storm damage has caused the temporary closure of Willow Beach and St. Thomas roads in Lake Mead National Recreation Area.

Boulder City girls’ volleyball coach Cherise Hinman was incorrectly identified in a sports photo in the Nov. 14 issue after the Lady Eagles defeated Pahrump Valley in a Southern Region semifinal to clinch a berth in the state tournament. Hinman has been coach at Boulder City for 17 seasons. The Boulder City Review regrets the mistake.

BC art festival pays tribute to late founder

The ninth annual Boulder City Art Guild Winter Art Fest, Nov. 9-10, was a celebration of its founder and guiding spirit, Aileen Dike, who died Oct. 14 at the age of 90. The “Winterfest,” as Dike called it, was her idea and continued year after year through her efforts and attention to every detail.
