Freshman Jake Hubel slides in hard for the steal at third. The Boulder City High School junior varsity team won the scrimmage against Del Sol March 8 8-5. The varsity team, which also played Del Sol that day, lost its game 13-6. The school’s teams begins playing in earnest today with the Route 66 Tournament in Needles, Calif., and play their first games at home Tuesday against Pahrump.

Moving up to the next level, senior Boulder City High School girls volleyball star Sophia Kelso committed to Menlo College to play Division II volleyball.
