Boys bowling teams continues to roll up wins

The boy’s bowling team at Boulder City High School won all nine points against Desert Pines on Tuesday afternoon and improved its season record to 72-9 with one match remaining left before postseason play.

Led by Teagan Smale’s 675 series, the Eagles finished with a team series of 2,127 for the match. The Jaguars, who failed to get a point from Boulder City in both matches this season, finished with a series of 1,605.

It was Boulder City’s first match since the extra week off for semester exams, but the Eagles picked up right where they left off. They have now swept their opponents in three straight matches and have not relinquished a point since Dec. 17.

In its previous match against the Southeastern Career Technical Academy, Boulder City throttled the Roadrunners by 436 pins. The Eagles defeated the Jaguars by 522 pins Tuesday and have defeated their last two opponents by nearly 960 pins.

Boulder City was to finish its regular season at 3 p.m. today against the Del Sol Dragons at Boulder Bowl. The Eagles dominated every game during their previous match against Del Sol, winning total pinfall by more than 400 pins.

The Lady Eagles also took all nine points against Desert Pines. Emily Owens led the way with a 379 series, and Camille Torgensen’s 356 series was second highest on the team. The Lady Eagles now have a record of 45-36 heading into the final match.

Playoffs start Wednesday at The Orleans. All matches start at 2:30 p.m.
