Athlete of the week: Kyra Yamamoto

Each week the coaches at Boulder City High School nominate an athlete to spotlight for contributions made to his or her team. This week's honoree is junior Kyra Yamamoto, who plays tennis. She and partner McKenna Frazier comprise the No. 1 doubles team. Additionally, she is the team captain and "makes sure that the team works hard during practice. She tries to help the newer girls on the team and gives them as many suggestions to help improve their games to help the team during match play," said coach Katy Nash. Yamamoto is 12-3 this season against Del Sol, Chaparral, Desert Pines, Sunrise Mountain and Southeast Career Technical Academy. LAURA HUBEL/BOULDER CITY REVIEW
