Athlete of the Week

LAURA HUBEL/BOULDER CITY REVIEW

Each week the coaches at Boulder City High School nominate an athlete to spotlight for contributions made to his or her team. This week’s honoree is senior Nick Lara, a member of the varsity swim team. Lara has won all of his events and been part of winning relay teams in all meets so far this season, according to coach Sara Carroll. She said he races hard in all events, is interested in strategy and is helpful to new swimmers. In addition to swimming, Lara is the senior class representative on the student council, a member of the National Honor Society and part of the robotics team. The son of Jim and Ann Lara will be attending the U.S. Naval Academy after graduation.
