Athlete of the Week

Laura Hubel/Boulder City Review

Each week the coaches at Boulder City High School select athletes to spotlight for contributions made to their teams. This week’s honoree is senior Lauren “Lou” Axelson, a sweeper on the girls soccer team. During the team’s Oct. 1 match against Moapa Valley, Axelson scored the tying goal with only a few minutes of play remaining. She is a team captain and has become a strong leader on and off the field, said coach Duncan Stark. She is the daughter of John Axelson.
