Kudos to the American Legion, veterans cemetery

We are all proud and thankful for being able to live in Boulder City, a truly unique Nevada destination. One of the many prominent locations in the Boulder City area is the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

This week I attended a memorial service for Walter Wert, a World War II Navy Seabee veteran who saw combat in the Pacific Theater. Boulder City American Legion Post 31 Cmdr. Greg Hall expertly officiated along with the Post Honor Guard and members of the Naval Reserve.

What a fine service and tribute to a member of our greatest generation! The Honor Guard was particularly well-trained and shell casings from their three-shot volley were added to the folded flag presented to the next of kin. It was an exceptional service and ceremony thanks to Post 31.
