Hours of operation: 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday to Friday at 813 Arizona St., 702-293-3320. Visit the center’s website at www.seniorcenterbouldercity.org.

Free computers/Internet to members: 8 a.m.-3 p.m.

Morning coffee, snacks, newspapers: 8-10 a.m.

Library/gift shop: 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Lunch hour: 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m. Suggested donation $2 (60 and older), $3 fee (59 or younger). Meals-on-Wheels are delivered Monday through Friday to the homebound.* Meal passes are available for your convenience at the receptionist’s desk.

Thursday: Baked chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, Capri vegetables, fruit, birthday cake and ice cream

Friday: Macaroni and cheese, steamed spinach, French baked potato, wheat bread, yogurt pops

Monday: Chicken pot pie, salad bar, fruit

Tuesday: Chili dog and cheese, sweet potato fries, coleslaw, fruit

Wednesday: Hot turkey sandwich with gravy, mashed potatoes, peas and carrots, oatmeal cookies

What is a critical access hospital?

According to the Rural Health Information Hub, a Critical Access Hospital (CAH) is a designation given to eligible rural hospitals who meet certain criteria. This designation was created by Congress via the Balanced Budget Act of 1997 due to the closures of over 400 rural hospitals during the 1980s through the early 1990s. The CAH designation was designed to improve health care access to Americans living in rural areas as well as provided financial stability to the facilities that serve these communities.
