Metropolitan Police Department of Las Vegas is seeking the public’s help to find a person of interest in the death of 61-year-old Kathleen Ploutz of Las Vegas, whose body was found near the special events beach at Boulder Basin in the Lake Mead National Recreation Area on July 18.

The body of a 30-year-old Las Vegas man who went missing Tuesday was recovered from Lake Mead around 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Lane restriction set for U.S. Highway 95

The Nevada Department of Transportation will restrict the left lane on U.S. Highway 95 northbound from the Railroad Pass interchange to milepost 58, which is just before the Wagonwheel interchange. The lane restriction will go into effect from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday.

Summer Storm

A thunderstorm accompanied by high winds hit Boulder City around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday. The storm flooded downtown streets, but only .12 of an inch was recorded, according to the National Weather Service. There was a flash flood warning until 7:15 p.m. and the forecast calls for scattered showers and thunderstorms until about 11 p.m.

Search underway for missing Las Vegas man

The National Park Service is searching for a Las Vegas man who was last seen in the water near Callville Bay Marina.

HopeLink to aid needy children for new school year

When school lets out for the summer, HopeLink of Southern Nevada begins registering students of families in need for the essentials they will need for the coming school year. The program provides new clothing, backpacks, grade-specific supplies and resources for needed services such as immunizations, medical, dental and vision services.

The new book, “Access For All: Touring The Southwest With Limited Mobility,” will be unveiled and available for purchase and signing by the authors from 1-2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Boulder Dam Hotel, 1305 Arizona St.

Henderson man missing at Lake Mead

A 45-year-old Henderson man went missing at Lake Mead Saturday afternoon after officials said high winds blew him further from his boat.
