St. Jude’s Ranch for Children in Boulder City is one step closer to having a new healing center for victims of sex trafficking after planning commissioners recommended approval of an amendment to the nonprofit’s master plan.
Another year in Boulder City is ending and with it comes a time to reflect on some of the major events from 2019.

Tennis stars Boen Huxford and Preston Jorgensen, seniors at Boulder City High School, were named All-Southern Region players of the year after helping the team claim its third consecutive 3A state championship.
After winning their third consecutive 3A state championship, six players from Boulder City High School girls volleyball team were named to the All-Southern Region team.

As a journalist, author and filmmaker, much of my recent work has evolved around reporting on veterans and military issues. I’ve gained a wealth of knowledge about those topics as they relate to Nevada in particular. Because of that and other details of my experience, I have been tasked by the Nevada Department of Veterans Services to locate, research the history of, and photograph the dozens of veterans memorials that are situated throughout the state. The collected information will appear on the NDVS website.

A selection of hors d’oeuvres allows guests to nibble and nosh throughout the evening as they wish. And you can limit the time to a few hours without looking like a Grinch.
