Thieves target vehicles during holiday season

It’s that time of the year again where we are likely to be out and about making purchases and feeling festive. Many thieves look for easy and inviting targets when it comes to selecting a vehicle to burglarize or steal from. It is up to you to make every effort to prevent your car from being targeted. Hide it. Lock it. Keep it.

High school locked down after phone threat

Boulder City High School was on a soft lockdown for approximately 40 minutes today after it received a threat over the phone, according to the city’s Communications Manager Lisa LaPlante.

Marshal added to police force

The Boulder City Police Department has created a new position to provide extra security and save money.

Quit smoking to reduce risk of lung cancer

Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in men and women in the United States. Every year in this country, more than 200,000 cases are diagnosed, and about 150,000 people die of lung cancer. In the United States, about 7,300 people who never smoked die from lung cancer due to secondhand smoke exposure every year.

In addition to being aware of what is going on in your community, citizens can keep the following suggestions in mind to help maintain their safety at home.

Stay safe while using an ATM

ATM Selection considerations: The law sets minimum standards for lighting and procedures for evaluating the safety of ATMs, and it requires notices to users outlining basic safety precautions for using them.
