Hours of operation: 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday to Friday at 813 Arizona St., 702-293-3320. Visit the center’s website at www.seniorcenterbouldercity.org.

Free computers/internet to members: 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Morning coffee, snacks, newspapers: 8-10 a.m.

Library/gift shop: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Lunch hour: 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Suggested donation $2 (60 and older), $5 fee (59 or younger). Meals-on-Wheels are delivered Monday through Friday to the homebound.*

▶ Thursday: Breaded chicken breast with stuffing and gravy, green bean casserole, apple crisp

▶ Friday: Tomato bisque, sandwich bar, fruit, muffin

▶ Monday: Meatballs and gravy over brown rice, cauliflower casserole, fruit, salad

▶ Tuesday: Grilled chicken breast over mandarin orange salad, roll, fruit, pudding

▶ Wednesday: Kielbasa with sauerkraut, potato casserole, corn, salad bar

Walking my dogs around the neighborhood, early in the morning to beat the heat, I’ve noticed residents being mindful of water usage, taking steps to conserve in multiple ways. Several homes within a six-block radius have removed or are in the process of replacing their grass with desertscape (xeriscape) or artificial grass. Early morning watering schedules are being adhered to – before 9 a.m., for optimal lawn health and water conservation.
