People of all ages came from Boulder City and the surrounding communities to enjoy the 39th annual Spring Jamboree presented by the Boulder City Chamber of Commerce.
Despite a few showers Saturday and Sunday, the festival was among the top three presented by the chamber.
The event included a car show, gem and mineral show, entertainment, craft and food vendors and Kidzone.
This past Friday evening, a large and appreciative crowd turned out for the Nevada Shakespeare Festival’s performance of “Henry V” in Bicentennial Park. The performance was hosted by Main Street Boulder City and the Boulder City Chamber of Commerce. NSF featured six actors and actresses, who each played six to eight characters during the 80-minute performance.
The Boulder City Council received an update last week on the new community pool and were shown renderings of what the new facility may look like and a possible completion date.
Last Wednesday, California Gov. Gavin Newsom made a stop in Boulder City at the home of Judy Hoskins during an invitation-only gathering to help promote his new book, “Young Man in a Hurry.” He appeared at an event later that night in Las Vegas.
The Clark County School District continues to struggle financially as the growth of the nation’s fifth-largest school district has slowed at the same time students and parents are finding alternative education options.
Some major changes are coming soon to the Boulder City Hospital.
Monday was the first opportunity for residents to file as candidates in this year’s Boulder City Council election.
It’s definitely not a request the city receives every day.
Editor’s Note: After the printing of this edition, Martha P. King Elementary received word from the school district that it won its budget appeal and that both the PE and music positions will not have to go part-time this fall.
