The 11th annual Pumpkinman Triathlon will take place Oct. 25 in and around Boulder City. More than 2,000 people from across the United States, Canada, South America and Europe are expected to participate.
The event will consist of three distances; sprint, Olympic and half. The sprint course has a 750 meter swim, 12.4 mile bike ride and 5k run. The Olympic course has a 1,500 meter swim, 24.8 mile bike ride and 10k run. The half course has a 1.2 mile swim, 56 miles bike ride and 13.1 mile run.
The swim portion will take place at Lake Mead. The bike course will start at Boulder Beach at Lake Mead National Recreation Area and end at Wilbur Square Park in Boulder City, using the River Mountain Loop Trail and Nevada Way. The run course will be in Boulder City, with road closures from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Colorado Street, Nevada Way from Colorado to Avenue I, Park Street, Utah Street, Wyoming Street, River Mountain Avenue, Adams Boulevard and Canyon Road.
Participants are encouraged to bring Halloween costumes for finish-line photos.
There will be a expo and activities from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Wilbur Square Park.
