League newcomer remains undefeated

Time to Mash, which leads the city parks and recreation department’s men’s summer softball league, played a heated game with Credit Union on June 18, coming away with a 10-9 victory. The win allowed the league newcomer to maintain its undefeated status.
In the evening’s nightcap, Duetto eked out a 15-14 win over Papillon tying the game on a two-run homer by Garrett Calloway and a winning RBI single by Mike Jones, all with two outs in the inning.
This week’s games start at 6 tonight.
The coed league games continue on Sunday nights. Also undefeated is Pitches Be Crazy, which is leading the league with an 8-0 record.
At week five, the standings are:
Men’s league: Time to Mash, 10-0; Pit Stop, 8-2; Duetto, 6-4; Papillon, 3-7; Club Fitness, 2-8; and Credit Union, 1-9
Coed league: Pitches Be Crazy, 8-0; Jack’s Place, 6-2; Hoover Dam Store, 4-4; Hammer’s Grill, 4-4; Bangin’ Pitches, 3-5; Club Fitness, 3-5; Credit Union, 3-5; and Serenity Salon, 1-7.
