Playoffs begin for men’s basketball league
Boulder City Parks and Recreation Department’s men’s basketball playoffs began last week.
The Ragin’ Roadrunners defeated Woodbury Law 73-68 in the first round of the tournament. Flight S2S beat Boulder City Mortuary 76-60, sending the two winning teams to the next round in the winner’s bracket.
On Feb. 18, Boulder Chiropractic took on the Ragin’ Roadrunners, with Boulder Chiropractic advancing in the winner’s bracket with an 84-67 win. FlightS2S took on the Credit Union in the late game, which went to overtime where foul shots were the key to the Credit Union’s 73-63 victory.
Boulder Chiropractic will face the Credit Union at 7 tonight in the recreation center gym, where the winner will advance to the championship next week.
On Tuesday, Boulder City Mortuary played the Roadrunners and Woodbury Law encountered Flight S2S, with the winners also squaring off this evening at 8 at the recreation center.
High scorers for the week were Jay Brown, who averaged 28 points in his two games; Shane Levin and Ryan Emling, who both scored 24 points; followed by Sheldon Hutchins and Derick Peet with 22 points apiece.
