Last week about 60 Nevada State Veterans Home residents participated in the 11th annual Veterans’ Olympics. On Saturday awards were handed out to winners of the bowling, basketball, fishing and poker touranments. Angela Metcalf, volunteer coordinator for the home, said community groups nand Nellis and Creech Air Force bases are involved in helping with the event.
Winning a pair of league games this past week, Boulder City High School boys basketball climbed to third place in the 3A Southern standings.
