Hours of operation: 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday to Friday at 813 Arizona St., 702-293-3320. Visit the center’s website at www.seniorcenterbouldercity.org.

Free computers/Internet to members: 8-3 p.m.

Morning coffee, snacks, newspapers: 8-10 a.m.

Library/gift shop: 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Lunch hour: 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m. Suggested donation $2 (60 and older), $3 fee (59 or younger). Meals-on-Wheels are delivered Monday through Friday to the homebound.* Meal passes are available for your convenience at the receptionist’s desk.

CCSD to host public meetings in Boulder City

The Clark County School District is seeking community input regarding its Building Brighter Futures plan, which could see the consolidation of some schools throughout the district.

Shakespeare returns to BC

This past Friday evening, a large and appreciative crowd turned out for the Nevada Shakespeare Festival’s performance of “Henry V” in Bicentennial Park. The performance was hosted by Main Street Boulder City and the Boulder City Chamber of Commerce. NSF featured six actors and actresses, who each played six to eight characters during the 80-minute performance.

Council receives update on pool

The Boulder City Council received an update last week on the new community pool and were shown renderings of what the new facility may look like and a possible completion date.

Newsom stops in BC

Last Wednesday, California Gov. Gavin Newsom made a stop in Boulder City at the home of Judy Hoskins during an invitation-only gathering to help promote his new book, “Young Man in a Hurry.” He appeared at an event later that night in Las Vegas.

The Clark County School District continues to struggle financially as the growth of the nation’s fifth-largest school district has slowed at the same time students and parents are finding alternative education options.
