Gaidis earns bachelor’s degree
The Boulder City Lions Club recently hosted its annual speakers contest for high school students, asking them to discuss the worldwide diabetes epidemic. On St. Patrick’s Day people in Boulder City will be able to legally gamble, something normally not allowed, to raise money for medical care and recreational activities for animals in town.
The Shane Patton Scholarship Foundation wants to honor its namesake for his sacrifice to his hometown and country with a statue, and it is raising money for the project at a joint fundraiser with the That Others May Live Foundation of Las Vegas.
Members of the Xi Zeta sorority and their friends gathered Friday evening for the first Rosie Roll, a fundraising pub crawl in downtown Boulder City. Proceeds raised will stay in the community and help a variety of causes including scholarships, needy families and cancer patients.
