Oaklane Preschool Academy presented a $1,000 scholarship to Brooks Roe during Boulder City High School’s annual Scholarship Night in May. Carole Gordon, owner of Oaklane, congratulates Roe, who attended the academy. He plans to attend Dixie State College, where he will major in mass communications. The former captain of the football, basketball and cross-country teams said he will focus on academics and has no plans to participate in sports at the college. He will spend part of the summer in Fiji on a humanitarian trip.

This past Friday evening, a large and appreciative crowd turned out for the Nevada Shakespeare Festival’s performance of “Henry V” in Bicentennial Park. The performance was hosted by Main Street Boulder City and the Boulder City Chamber of Commerce. NSF featured six actors and actresses, who each played six to eight characters during the 80-minute performance.
