The Boulder City Library is seeking applicants for its board of trustees to fill the seats of departing members Gary Berger and Valerie McNay.
CARE NV and the Boulder City Library will sponsor a health resources and Affordable Care Act enrollment fair from 1:30-4 p.m. Tuesday at the library to help people navigate the health care market before the ACA’s open enrollment period closes Jan. 31.

Boulder City’s Explorer Post 198 competed in the Chandler Police Department’s 19th annual Tactical Competition Saturday and Sunday in Chandler, Arizona, and the group brought home a collection of trophies.
George Markle receives kisses from Poppy Helgren, left, director of nursing, and Linda Gelinger, administrator, of the Nevada State Veterans Home in Boulder City after he was presented with his high school diploma Tuesday. Markle, 91, a World War II veteran, left high school in Bigelow, Arkansas, to join the Army after the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor in 1941. He was honored through the Operation Recognition program, which helps veterans who left high school and served between World War II and the Vietnam War obtain their diplomas.
The Harmony Handbells’ unique musical performances have been drawing crowds of local residents for years, but this past weekend brought things to a new level when more than 100 ringers from all over California and Southern Nevada converged on Boulder City for the 22nd annual Twelfth Night Handbell Festival.
