Pardiñas graduates from Marine officer school

Steven Pardiñas, son of Jorge and Marisa Pardiñas of Boulder City, graduated Officer Candidate School in Quantico, Virginia, and was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps on Aug. 12.

Pardiñas, a Boulder City native, graduated from Boulder City High School in 2012 and received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from UNLV in 2016.

He reported to The Basic School in Quantico on Aug. 14 to continue his officer training.

Saturday, volunteers got a 7 a.m. start for Shine Boulder City, hosted by Main Street Boulder City. The clean-up was an initiative through American 250 Nevada. Volunteers helped clean statues, benches and some business exteriors within the Historic Downtown District.
