Horsin’ Around to Help Others

Laura Leach, center, congratulates Abrey Wrightsman, left, and TJ Hatfield, who won the 2018 Dan Leach Memorial Horseshoe Tournament played Memorial Day weekend. The event raised $1,746 for the Dan Leach Memorial Fund, a nonprofit organization that helps pay for children to participate in sports, dance, extracurricular classes and other activities. It continues the efforts of the late Dan Leach, a Metropolitan Police Department officer who was dedicated to helping children before he was killed in an accident in 2009.

Yoga Yields Benefits

St. Jude’s to grow opportunities for children

To grow greater opportunities for education and community, St. Jude’s Ranch for Children is starting a new project and seeking volunteers to help.

Prepare your home for summer travel, too

According to AAA, more than 41.5 million Americans traveled this Memorial Day weekend, nearly 5 percent more than last year. Travel and hospitality experts predict 2018 summer travel will show growth across the boards. While our town will be on many tourists’ travel itinerary, Boulder City residents will be part of those millions of Americans spending time away on vacation — meaning houses and homes are bound to have a lot of alone time.
