An afternoon in the park will help ensure that area senior citizens are properly nourished and their well-being considered. The fourth annual Rock, Roll & Stroll to raise funds for the Senior Center of Boulder City and its Meals on Wheels program will be held Saturday.

Growing up in an Italian neighborhood of Brooklyn, “Marzo è pazzo” (March is crazy) is a saying I would often hear this time of year; it’s an expression that certainly holds true in Boulder City. March is the most unpredictable of months here, where, from one day to the next, temperatures can make us grab for a winter coat or break out a bathing suit.
There are few things more universally comforting than a melt-in-your-mouth beef stew. France has boeuf à la bourguignon. Hungary has goulash. Ireland has Guinness beef stew. What sets Ireland’s stew apart is the addition of stout beer, namely Guinness Stout.

A duo from Boulder City High School took the top prize at a recent fishing tournament on Lake Mead.
A local nonprofit is still raising money to honor its namesake and war hero Shane Patton with a statue and has once again partnered with the That Others May Live Foundation of Las Vegas for a fundraiser this weekend.
