Store robbed at gunpoint; police seek help locating suspects
Two employees at the Radio Shack/Sprint store on Buchanan Boulevard were robbed at gunpoint last week and police are seeking the community’s help to track down the suspects.
According to Boulder City Police, two black men in their mid to late 20s entered the store about 7:40 p.m. on May 9. One of them displayed a handgun and ordered the employees to the back room where they demanded the store employees open the locked safe.
The suspects took cellular telephones, computer tablets and cash before they left the store in a silver or dark gray minivan. The vehicle may have had some damage on the right, rear quarter panel, according to a press release from the police department. The first suspect is described as a black man 25-30 years old, between 6 feet and 6 feet 4 inches, and weighing 175-185 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white, long-sleeve button-down shirt with a black tie, black pants and black tennis shoes. He was wearing a black, golfer-style hat, black frame glasses and an unknown identification card hanging on a black lanyard around his neck.
The second suspect is described as a black man 25-30 years old, between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet 1 inches tall, and weighing 160-175 pounds. He was wearing a white, long-sleeve button-down shirt over dark blue pants with worn areas. He had on a white baseball cap and glasses, possibly with a silver frame. This suspect was carrying two rolled up laundry-type bags, the release stated.
Dispatch records show the employees were tied up with duct tape, but they were not injured. A witness arrived on the scene and untied them.
