On Sept. 19 the Nevada State Railroad Museum Boulder City opened its new visitor center. In addition to the dignitaries and invited guests, over 1,000 people visited that day, showing tremendous support within the community for cultural institutions like ours.

The holidays are fast approaching and that means things are getting festive at the library.

The following are classes, events and programs available at the Boulder City Library in October.

The past few weeks have been busy at Garrett Junior High School as students have continued to settle into the school year, participate in fall activities, and work toward finishing the first quarter strong.

September is always a busy month at Boulder City High School.

That first day I feel a little fall chill, I always chuckle to myself thinking about the “sweata weatha” exchange between Maya Rudolph and Amy Poehler from their SNL sketch. While much of the country is pulling on sweaters, downing pumpkin lattes, and decorating for fall, we’re still wearing flip-flops and kicking on the AC.

Walt Disney once said, “I think what I want Disneyland to be most of all is a happy place – a place where adults and children can experience together some of the wonders of life, of adventure, and feel better because of it.”

The holiday season is almost upon us, with Halloween coming up.

I’m certain that today every American who was an adult on 9/11 remembers what he or she was doing during the terrorist attacks.
