Free Cone Day raises funds for St. Jude’s Ranch
Nearly $2,000 was raised for St. Jude’s Ranch for Children during Ben & Jerry’s 36th annual Free Cone Day on April 8 at the Scoop Shops in The District at Green Valley Ranch and Sunset Station. During the event, 7,929 scoops or the equivalent of 1,485 pounds of ice cream were served.
Each year, the Henderson shops enlist the help of local celebrities to scoop ice cream while supporting local children’s charities.
It may come as a surprise to some that the Boulder City Airport is now the third busiest in Nevada based on enplanements. Because of that fact, the need for an air traffic control tower has increased every year.
Moving on to the next level, a pair of Boulder City High School star female athletes have fulfilled their dreams of competing in collegiate athletics.
Finishing as 3A state champion runners-up, five Boulder City High School baseball players were selected to the 3A All-State team, while coach Denny Crine was named coach of the year.
Douglas Trinkle of Boulder City is accused of repeatedly fondling and raping a girl who was about 14 when the alleged abuse began in 2022.
