Seen on Scene: At the State of the City

For nearly 30 years, Donna Handley has taught the three R’s at Andrew J. Mitchell Elementary, but maybe not the three you may be thinking of – Running, Recreation and Respect.

By a rare 3-2 split, the Boulder City Council voted last week to give a few additional options for those residents who were opposed to the leash law passed late last year.

For a little more than a quarter century, Grace Christian Academy has offered an alternative to elementary education in Boulder City. But as of the end of this month, its doors will be closed.

It’s one of the most discussed topics around town these days: that being the proposed data center in Eldorado Valley, nearly three miles from the nearest residence in Boulder City.
