Bail reduced in lewdness case of 67-year-old BC resident

Boulder City resident Peter Bennett had his bail reduced to $150,000 Tuesday, after the district attorney’s office agreed the amount was sufficient to keep the 67-year-old in the area to appear in court.

DAR member receives national appointment

The Silver State Chapter recently announced that Marilyn Adair has received an appointment from Daughters of the American Revolution National Society. Adair has been appointed to the Veterans Affairs Voluntary Service advisory committee for Southern Nevada. The three-year appointment runs from Sept. 1 to Aug. 31, 2016.

Harkins runs strong in first season meet

Boulder City senior Chandler Harkins ran 17 minutes, 58.1 seconds over the 3.1-mile course to finish in third place in the season-opening Larry Burgess/Las Vegas Cross-Country Invitational on Saturday at Veterans Memorial Park.

State wildlife officials caught and killed a sick bighorn sheep from a Boulder City park on Sept. 4 so they could run tests to determine if one of Nevada’s most important herds has been infected with a deadly strain of pneumonia.
