Eight statues to be introduced during Artwalk Saturday

Boulder City Public Art Scape invites residents to attend its Artwalk at 4:30 p.m. Saturday. During the walk, eight new statues will be introduced to the community.

Those attending are asked to meet in front of the Boulder Dam Hotel, 1305 Arizona St.

The sculptures’ artists are expected to attend.

A reception on the patio of the hotel will be held immediately after the walk. During the reception, awards will be presented to the winning artists from last year’s sculptures.

BC’s Got Talent show to be held Saturday evening

The sixth annual BC’s Got Talent show presented by Boulder City Friends of the Arts will be at 7 p.m. Saturday in the amphitheater at the Boulder City Library, 701 Adams Blvd.

The show was rescheduled after being rained out April 25.

Free popcorn and beverages will be provided.

June 12 event planned to say goodbye to old high school

Boulder City residents are invited to say goodbye to Boulder City High School before buildings are demolished for the upcoming renovation.

The gathering is scheduled for 5-8 p.m. June 12 at the school.

Those attending will be able to write messages on the walls and tour the campus. There will be music, food and the opportunity to share memories with alumni.

Additionally, participants are invited to bring copies of photos and mementos for the school’s scrapbook.

More than 1,200 votes cast during early voting

According to City Clerk Lorene Krumm, 1,227 votes were cast during early voting May 20-23 at City Hall. The general election will be June 2.

There are 9,155 active voters in Boulder City, according to the Clark County Election Department.

Citizens are being asked to vote for two members of the City Council and on a ballot question about expenditures from the city’s capital improvement fund.
