Search underway for missing Las Vegas man

The National Park Service is searching for a Las Vegas man who was last seen in the water near Callville Bay Marina.

At 8:53 p.m. Wednesday, the Lake Mead National Recreation Area Interagency Communication Center received a call reporting that the man fell off the front of a boat and disappeared underwater.

National Park Service park rangers and concessions security responded to the scene and began an immediate search from the point where he was last seen. The search resumes today with the assistance of the Metropolitan Police Search and Rescue Dive Team.

Witnesses reported that the man had been drinking and wasn’t wearing a life jacket.

The incident is under investigation. Callville Bay Marina is open.
