Police Blotter

Dec. 27, 6:49 a.m.

A woman called to report that, on her way to work, she saw a suspicious man in a hoodie walking down the side of a house and that she suspected he was attempting to steal something as the garage door was partially open. Upon arriving less than five minutes later, the police saw no sign of the caller or suspect but learned that the garage door had been broken for over a year.

Dec. 27, 7:24 a.m.

Multiple drivers called to express concern for a homeless woman and requested that officers check on her. The woman said she was fine but did not like the police checking and commented that it’s not against the law to be homeless.

Dec. 27, 12:26 p.m.

A caller complained about an adult and two children shooting what was possibly a BB gun in the grassy area between the hospital and The Homestead at Boulder City. Upon their arrival, officers discovered a mother and two boys in town visiting family, getting ready to try out a new airsoft rifle. Officers told them to relocate to the desert.

Dec. 27, 7:27 p.m.

A woman reported that she was in a vehicle trapped out in the desert after her boyfriend, who had been intoxicated and yelling, left on foot followed by her 17-year-old son. There were locked gates at every exit she could find, and she was now stuck alone with a toddler and a 4-year-old.

Dec. 29, 8:57 a.m.

A man came into the police department to report that he had left his car unlocked the night before and that a $20 pocket knife had been taken from the console. The man said that he didn’t need an official report number, but he wanted to make sure police knew in case there was a stabbing and his fingerprints were found on the weapon.

Dec. 30, 5:31 p.m.

A man reported that two other men had broken into his room and beat him up, leaving him with a bloody nose. However, the victim refused to cooperate and refused medical attention.

Dec. 31, 10:16 a.m.

Officers confronted a woman who was standing next to her car, which was parked in a handicapped spot but had no placard. The woman said her mother, who was inside a store, had a handicapped placard but that she had left it in Las Vegas. Police discovered that no placard had ever been issued to either woman before the mother admitted she used one belonging to her deceased mother.

Dec. 31, 12:58 p.m.

A caller complained that she had numerous problems with her neighbor and she now thought her neighbor was putting dog feces on her friend’s truck.
