Pit Stop wins men’s softball title

Pit Stop was crowned champs of the Boulder City Parks and Recreation Men's Summer Softball League on Aug. 6 after defeating Time To Mash two games in a row at Hemenway Park.

Pit Stop opened the night with a 17-2 shellacking over third-place Duetto in a game that was called early because of Pit Stop's 15-run lead.

The team kept its offense rolling during the championship series against the regular-season champs, Time To Mash. With a one-run lead, a runner on first base and one out in the final inning, Time To Mash hit into a double play, giving Pit Stop the 11-10 win in Game 1 of the final.

Both offenses stayed hot in Game 2 as each team scored five runs in the first inning, but Pit Stop's bats could not be silenced as the team finished with a 19-15 victory to take the title.

Boulder City's Fall Softball League resumes in mid-September. For more information, call the Boulder City Parks and Recreation Department at 702-293-9256.
