Coed softball begins season-ending tourney

The Boulder City Parks and Recreation Department’s adult coed softball league took Father’s Day off but will begin its double-elimination tournament this week to end the season.

Boulder Bowl is seeded first with a 9-3 record. T.Q. Pallets is close behind with an 8-4 record, and Anything Close is trailing slightly with a 7-5 record. Boulder Dam Brewery stands at fourth place with a 6-6 record, while Boulder Dam Credit Union and Xtreme Clean are tied with a 5-7 record and B.C. Real Estate trails with a 2-10 record.

Tournament games begin at 6 p.m. Sunday at Hemenway Valley Park’s ballfields. The tournament is set to conclude July 2.

Men’s softball league wrapping up season

The men’s recreational softball league is concluding its league games this week. According to Kelly Lehr, sports coordinator for the department, the season has been very competitive with The Credit Union (13-3) competing for top seeding with Pit Stop (11-5).

No Glove, No Love (9-7) is trying to find its way back up to the top. Duetto (7-8-1) and Mad Dogs (7-9) are fighting for fourth place, while Ralph’s Tires (0-15-1) has been battling at the plate to secure a win for the season.

The men’s tournament begins at 6 p.m. June 29 at Hemenway Valley Park’s ballfields. The championship game will be played July 6.
