Utah’s economic development bike trek to end in BC

A group of nearly 30 bicyclists made up on owners and executives from Taiwan's bicycle business began a bike trip today in Ogden, Utah that will end Tuesday in Boulder City, according to an article in the Salt Lake Tribue.

Ogden Mayor Mike Caldwell will join the executive for the six-day, 420-mile bicycle ride through Utah

"Each company has signaled an interest in opening a distribution center in North America, and Caldwell hopes one and all will pick Ogden, which wants to become a destination for bicycle companies in the same way the city became an axis for ski industry manufacturers," the article read.

A Taiwan film crew is covering the tour that will produce a documentary film of the trip. Utah officials are hoping the film will create tourism opportunities.

After Boulder City, the group will attend the Interbike trade show in Las Vegas, which starts Wednesday.
